Martin King

Director

Martin was a non-Executive Director and joined the Board of Luton Town Football Club in July 2005.  He remained with the club for nearly two years, before resigning from the Board of Directors in late March 2007 following a disagreement with the Board over the sacking of manager Mike Newell. 

Martin is Chief Executive Officer of Eminence Leisure (fellow Luton Town Director Richard Bagehot is Commercial Director). 

Based in Luton, Eminence was formed by Martin in 2002. The company is the UK’s largest corporate entertainment booking agency: turnover in 2004 was £20 million.

Martin himself had a singing career that produced 3 albums and 4 TV shows. He was previously Entertainment Controller for Rank Entertainment, overseeing entertainment content and budget for 43 venues.

He progressed to Entertainment Executive for Luminar Leisure, before leaving to establish Eminence.

Although fond of Luton Town, Martin is actually a Chesterfield fan.
